Hi

Can anyone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of one vs. the other when used in a closed loop hydrostatic drive?

Is one more suitable for high torque/low speed like the 2000 ft-lb 400 rpm range?

How do the efficiencies generally compare?

Any information would be helpful.

Radial piston motors are generally used in low speed high torque applications. Axial piston motors are usually used in the higher speed range. Don't know that I have ever seen a radial motor used closed loop before. Maytag
