Hi to everyone,

In a recent project our client specified a bolted cover as 30" 900# RTJ B16.47B.

When i look trough B16.47 it only specifies RTJ facing for A series. I looked some manufacturer catalogs and find nothing about :(

am I missing something? Every kind of help will be apprecieted.

para 6.1.1 states that Table 3 gives dimensions for ring joint facings for Series A flanges. It does not say that you are prohibited from using ring joint facings on series B flanges....

If you look at Table 3 at the ring joint detail for the 30", 900#, you see that they specify a min raised face diam of 37.25", and the Series B raised face is only 34.5", so...
You are correct, it is not possible to manufacture a 30", 900# series B ring joint flange in accordance with ASME B16.47.
(I'm looking at the 1996 edition, by the way)
