[b]Water Content in Diesel oil (fuel)[/b] 1

Hi everybody,
I have several questions about this issue:
1. In principle, what is the effect of higher than normal water content in diesel oil on vehicle diesel engine.
2. Considering the following values - app. 500 - 800 ppm compared to 200 ppm max. (according a EN-590 European standard)can this values cause any harm to the engine.
3. Is it possible that such contaminated fuel can alter the engine timing system setup and thus change engine timing.
4. Where can I find articles about this issue.

The water content in Diesel fuel oil, mainly provokes that the "ignition delay" becomes larger than normal for an engine, which in turn, induces the following adverse effects in the performance of the engine:

Increase of: brake specific fuel consumption, lube oil, exhaust gas temperature, thermal load, wear, the use of spare parts. In two words INCREASE COSTS.

Reduction of: power.

In addition, some corrosion appears in injection pumps and associated elements.

23562 - I've reviewed those threads but it wasn't of much help since my question is about water contamination of standard diesel fuel and not about engines running on water-fuel mixtures.
21121956 - can you address me to any literature/studies available on this issue? (I've already googled quite a lot but still didn't succeed).
