Is anyone familiar with BAC 5621 rev K para 6.2c? It discusses Temperature Uniformity Surveys of heat treatment furnaces. It specifically states that if the relocation of temperature (in my case multipoints) sensors is not required so long as the temperature uniformity survey range is less than half of the allowed range for the applicable equipment class at each survey test temperature.

I have a +/-10F tolerance. The multipoint differs from the actual high by a 2 degrees. The high is 6F higher than the set point (i.e. the set point is 800 F and the high is 806F). Does this mean that I must relocate the multipoint?

What if the lowest temperature reading was only 3 F below the set point, giving a combined range of 9F which is <10F (half of the range from -10 to +10F). Therefore the multipoint does not need to be relocated? Is this actually how the spec should be interpreted?
