The reason I'd like to change the cursor to a crosshair is I find it helpful(particularly in drafting) when picking dimension points. The perpendicular lines of the crosshair are a visual aid when creating dimensions that are really close together. Also, the few other CAD softwares I have used all had this option, I really beleive it has merit.
Thanks for the visualization tip!
p.s. according to the time of your post, you must really be burning the midnite oil
Sorry, didn't mean to be a wise guy on the cursor thing - it's just that in other packages, there is more difficulty in picking certain types of geometry. AutoCAD is the classic example. There are cases when you have to set different pickbox and aperture sizes, just because you CAN'T pick something without zooming in to the nth degree. I've never had such a problem with Catia, and hence, never even thought about the cursor. As a result, I've no idea where to find such an option.
And yes, I do burn the midnight oil. It's been a pretty slow week, but I never go to bed the same day I wake up. I've been known on occasion to put in 100 hour weeks...
The cursor can be changed, it is done in windows using the the control panel mouse option, I seem to remember it being a big vague in use on catia though.
