Hello, all--

I tried to search for a national or state (Texas) standard/specification. Does one exist?
Or, at least an acceptable industry standard practice for bagged fill composition and bag placement procedure?

Thank you.

The only time bags of of fill are used are in MSE walls. These are grass seeded bags placed on the face of the wall to promote vegetation growth.

It is not industry practice to place fill in bags. The main reason is you cant control/test density. Normal practice is to place in loose layers and compact.

I do imagine that placing fill in high strength bags would offer some benefit, as it would act like a geogrid to some degree but like i said, it is not normal practice.

geotextile bags are used for coastal erosion and flood protection. cement filled bags are sometimes also used for retaining walls and revetments. neither one is that commonplace
