I have a dumb question. Can Bake Hard Electro-Galvanized be welded?

I'm certain it can because this material is designed for automotive bodies that are normally spot welded. The bake hardening effect comes from excess Phos. During the paint bake the steel actually age hardens slightly. (I forget what SAE J#### to look at but the specs are in there.)

Yes, eletrogalvanized bake hardening steels can be welded. The appropriate standards are SAE J1562 Selection of Zinc and Zinc-Alloy (Hot-Dipped and Electrodeposited Coated Steel Sheet and SAE J2340 Categorization and Properties of Dent Resistant, High Strength, and Ultra High Strength Automotive Sheet Steel.
