As with all diesel engines (even Fords), it is improtant to use a quality filter. I have used Baldwin products in the past with excellent results. They make a quality product. Having said that, I have been using Wix filters for about 13 years now and I use Wix racing filters on the race cars exclusively. There are none better, IMO. Your B-7039 is a Wix 51734, FYI. Either product will do the job it is designed for. Just DO NOT use a cheapy filter on your truck. It's just not worth the few pennys saving to risk a filter coming apart and plugging oil passages resulting in possible engine damage.

it is not on a truck it is on a race engine for a dirt track car running a dry sump system. we have normal been using a k&n filter.
