I know the test leak rates c.f. API 6D - but when you do an emission study you have to consider emissions from valves to the flare system - and its common to consider that during plant lifetime valves get worn and leaks more. Initial leak rates is (close to) zero but will amount to something over the years.

If somebody out there could give me a reference (and spare me for test valves i know they are very small) then i would be really happy.

Best regards

MortenA,
maybe you can find something in the German Engineers' Guideline VDI 2440 whose Part 4 is about "Determining emissions"...

Hope this helps, 'NGL

Are you sure about the document no? I tried searching IHS Global who carries A LOT of standards. And allthough 63 documentes contained the number 2440 - none of the was german or seem likely to be of interest.

Best regards
