Does anybody know of any ISO/ASTM validated test methods for Balloon deflation time for catheters? I would think that they would have one, since as you all know they have test methods for everything, and I mean everything... But I haven't had any luck. Does anyone have any pointers?

...no I do not! But there might be a more or less simple calculation method to determine the time needed to deflate a balloon of certain radius and "pressure gap" (outside pressure minus inside pressure). Because the driving force to squeeze out the contant of the balloon is the stress state of the membrane and that state depends on the pressure gap and the material properties of the balloon.
I would say it should be possible to get formulae out of these relations to provide a proper estimation of the 'time' you want to know.
Consult a physical-mathematican for example!

I've designed both peripheral and coronary balloon catheters (urological too!) in the past and as far as I know there is no standard method for determining inflation/deflation times. We used internal test methods.
