Does anybody know where the Balloon Non-visible component option moved to in 2012? As I recall, in 2011, it was in the balloon property manager, but I can't find it to save my soul at this moment.

Is the question how to have the ballooning texts point to parts not visible in the drawing? I've always done that by hiding the obscuring part, ballooning, then revealing the hidden part.

There was a way at one point to balloon parts that had no geometry. I think most of the point of it was for things like lubricates and fluids that went into reservoirs. It was in the property manager for the balloons and I swear only worked half of the time. One of my designers managed to get it to work on a regular basis but I think it was pulled from 2012. Just trying to make sure. I'd hit up that designer, but he's on vacation.

Oh that! Select the Origin of the part when placing the balloon.

AFAIK, it was never a function of the property manager.

Ah, now it all becomes clear. Depending on your modeling approach, the requirement of a virtual component makes the feature almost completely useless. And, as usual, the undocumented "enhancement" gave us all more of a run around that it was worth. *Shakes head in mild frustration*

I have always turned my drawing view to "Hidden Line Visiable" then picked an edge of the hidden part then put the view back to "Hidden Line Removed".

Just my two cents, take it or leave it.
