I read about someone asking about barrier fluid pressure..!
Much depends on what your product is you are sealing against.
some seal require a 'Pressurised tank' or 'thermosyphon system' to control the 'balance pressure' inside the seal.
Pressure balance within the Double cartridge seal is in general 1.0 bar [14.50 psi] 'above' product pressure.
But in some cases where there is no product pressure and you are just using the seal as a barrier against say chemical 'nasties' then a thermosyphon system may not be required and you can therefor just buy a double seal with a 'pumping ring' that is fitted integral to the cartridge, this means you can just use 'circulation' from a storage tank or using the product to 'self-circ'.. the pumping ring helps to control the circulation within the barrier chamber.
