Hi,
We recently supplied a Knox Western Compressor Package with a F.W. Murphy Millennium Control Panel. We have a Fugitive Emissions Study on this package that indicates an area classification Class I, Div 2. The Murphy panel was ordered and designed for Class I, Div 2 locations to CSA and was for use with general purpose passive switches on the digital input on the power supply. However, during field installation the customer required "barriers to maintain the integrity of the Murphy control panel, and this is an electrical code requirement".
Can anybody help me understand why? I'm not an electrical engineer so my knowledge in this field is next to nothing.
Thank you,
