Base Metal supporting 1350 ¦C 2

What kind of base metal is able to support a temperature of 1350 °C ?
Base metal form : Flat products of 10 mm thickness

P.S. Up till now the highest base metal found is MA 956 (from SPECIAL METALS) limited to 1300 °C .

At this temperature, you are looking at refractory metals or ceramics for use.
 
Dear Mr Metengr.,
As the metal we are searching for is to serve as support tubes and is due to be fillet welded, the only solution you suggest would be refractory metals . We have tried to find a refractory metal going so high in temperature but up till now, our searching was unsuccessful .
What kind of refractory metal do you suggest that can be able to support 1350 °C ?

Tungsten and alloys
Rhenium and alloys
Zirconium & alloys
Molybdenum and alloys
Platinum/Rhodium group metals (although close to limits)

All of the above are subject to some degree of oxidation damage at 1350 F and above.
 
No metal will withstand that temp for prolonged time.
As designer you have to cool or keep the metal cool y engineering. In boiler furnaces you shield the exposed tubes, studded walls covered w/ refractory as an example.

Even NASA uses shields in their hi-temp uses,
shields., that's the word.
