Try searching for Kavanaugh's "Surveying with Construction Applications" on Amazon. It's what we were assigned in college for an introductory course.

If your coworkers won't help, it's time to find a new firm that's willing to help you out.

I take it from your handle that you may be female. If you are working in an enlightened jurisdiction, it may be possible to bring an employment standards case can be brought against your employer if you feel that you are being discriminated against.

Good Luck

Also check your engineering schools for night classes in surveying. You might get the comapny to pay for the class or you may be able to argue for a modest raise after completion. Night classes are ussually attended by those already working in the field. May find a better company, too.
