Hi all,

A project is coming up that involves moving a berm (roughly 5ft tall by 6ft wide, maybe 30 feet long). The project is mainly electrical but I understand that some civil will be involved because of this.

What sorts of civil studies/calculations should I expect to come from this task? What sorts of drawings should I expect to see? I'm an entry level engineer (and a mechanical at that) so I know I won't be doing any of the engineering but I want to know what goes into something like this so I can do some more research and speak intelligently with the other engineers.

Any help appreciated.

In my opinion, there should be a civil grading plan showing the existing and finished grade after the berm is removed. That and few standard civil notes should do the trick.

agreed, grading plan. i will say the slopes of the existing berm are really steep. we usually max out at 3' horizontal to 1' vertical. these slopes are like 3' horizontal to 5' vertical. probably needs to be clay soil or reinforced. thanks
