Basler is good. Who else is there? 1

I need to get three estimates for replacing our basler static exciter. We have a SSE 125-33Kw exciter that is on a 6000 KW steam drivin generator. I also want to update our steam controls.
We recently had an unscheduled outage and the big shots were not impressed with the urgency that basler placed on getting someone here. It took two days to get someone.

I am happy with basler but need to find some other vendors.

Any ideas?

ABB has their Unitrol system. See their website for more info.

Eaton (Cutler-Hammer) has static exciters (ECS2100) as well.

And GE, as previously mentioned.

There are not a lot left. GE and Beckwith are the only other ones I have dealt with also. Motortronics has one in development but I don't think it's ready for prime time yet.

If you run across Kinetics, STAY AWAY!!!!
We switched to Basler some time ago after horrendous and very costly experiences with Kinetics exciters and their complete lack of customer service. Lawers made money on that deal.

I had to get info on an old Westinghouse system, and with the breakup of Westinghouse I found it difficult to track down. I was directed to this outfit who claims to have their original designs. I know nothing else about them however, so Ican't make a qualified recommendation.
