Hi all,

I am trying to do some research on battered piles. Based on the traditional static method from the thread quoted above - if there is no bending moment acting on the battered piles, all vertical pile loads would be equal. Therefore, is it safe to say if the 2 outer battered piles are battered at the same angle, there will be no net horizontal component of the axial forces in the battered piles since the horizontal components will cancel each other out? Then the lateral loads would just be distributed evenly to the all piles?

Thanks in advance!

There is a horizontal component of the axial force in the battered pile with no moment, just downward load. The axial forces from the battered piles results in axial load in the pile cap.
