Hi,
i have currently been assigned to UPS and Battery
charger of the project i am currently working, as i am relatively new to this area i would greatly appreciate some assistance.
first of all, we have not verified the supplier but for substation design we are required to give ups cabinet dimensions, battery bank sizing, showing the isolator nand battery banks in the battery room etc.
so far with suppliers and researching i have struggled to find this information, i was wondering what you guys would normally use, the battery charger is using a dual nicad battery bank while the ups is using a parallel flooded lead acid battery bank.

You must know the rated power required for these systems. You should then contact charger/ UPS manufacturers and ask them for a initial quotation asking for dimensions of the systems they are going to supply.
I find it difficult to understand why these manufacturers would not be able to give you this information. After all, they all want to be given the tender at the end of the day.

Your question should be in forum238, not the forum on building power supplies.

BTW, battery chargers don't "use batteries", they charge them.
