Hello,
Just wondering if anybody has heard of a standard for the manufacture of lead-acid batteries. We're in the process of creating a specification for lead-acid batteries for utility substation applications, and I would like to reference an accepted standard for the manufacture / commissioning of the batteries in this spec. IEEE 485-1997 details the sizing of the bank for a particular application, but sets no guideline for manufacturers to follow regarding the manufacture or commissioning of the batteries. 485 is the standard that the utility would use, not the manufacturer. TIA.
