I am newly involved in battery pack design and testing for small battery packs in cordless phones, etc..
Currently the setup here is to use the OEM charger stand (and phone if necessary) to charge each pack before testing. I'm looking into replacing these with dedicated universal battery chargers.
A concern that has been brought up to me is the potential difference in charging techniques specifically if a battery pack was improperly designed. If the universal charger will charge the battery in a way (or to a level) that the device it is intended for will not. Especially if the wrong components are used in the battery pack.
My question is....
Can anyone think of potential issues with using a universal charger (rather than the OEM charger) that may let problems go unnoticed.
Thank You
