We have a 24VDC floor scrubber that we are trying to get a little extra life out of.
It uses four 6 volt deep cycle batteries that are at the end of their life. They are Trojan T-125 6volt batteries.

Would it be possible to remove the batteries, install a AC to 24VDC converter and run the scrubber with an extension cord? The area we use the scrubber on has AC plugs accessible.

If this is possible what size converter would be required? how many watts amps etc...

Thank you for your help

Don't you think you should tell us how much power YOUR scrubber uses?

To get a "little" more life you'd probably be better off adding a 24Vdc charger to what you have and leave the charger on while scrubbing.

On the other hand why not just replace the batteries? They don't even cost that much. Kludging on junk costs money too and often leads to failed things like controls and motors. Not to mention, perhaps, the occasional electrocution as you mix all the extension cords, rotating machinery, conductive cleaning solutions, and 1 second of inattention.

I second itsmoked. Inexperienced electrical alteration can be hazardous. Not an experiment, but one hot sweaty afternoon my Grandfather (a mechanic by trade) was leaning his arm on the fender of a car when his metal watch band hit the positive post of the car's battery and his wrist got burned. That was also one Timex that didn't keep on ticking. Certainly the sweatiness facilitated the incident, but that was only 12 volts.
