UL61010-1
We manufacture laboratory enclosures. There is a control box affixed to the enclosure side, about 300mm x 300mm x 150mm, in/on which is installed control equipment such as lamps, switches, transformer, fuses, terminals & fan motor speed control PCBs.
The system is to be certified to UL61010-1.
I dont have a copy of this yet ... not cheap them stds.
Does anyone know if in UL61010-1, there are any guidelines
on the type of fuses you are obliged to use for "branch circuit protection", in the way it is analysed in UL508A, where you are expected to use a class of fuse with BC of 200kA or so. ???.. Mind you, 61010 is applied to fairly small portable meters, and I can't imagine you will fit those physically large class of fuse in them.
Fusing a neutral conductor
EN61010-1 bans the use of a protective device in the neutral of multiphase equipment. it says nothing of single phase equipment.
Is there any guidance in UL61010-1 on this subject??
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
