Hi everybody,
I am having some difficulties in modelling a cylinder with an internal pressure and edges loads. In one edge I am applying constraints in all dofs but on the other I have to apply loads and moments in all directions. The element I'm using is solid45 in order to visualize the stress distribution along the thickness. The problem is that there is an internal pressure which deforms the cylinder radially...
I'd be thankful if anybody could help me urgently.

Hello, pmetelos!

If your question is how to apply internal pressure, the answer is simple:

1) Select nodes at internal radius (selecting surfaces and nodes attached to or in a a cylindrical system of axis selecting the nodes by location on radius)
2) Apply pressure on these nodes.

That's all!

Best regards,
