Hello,

I am trying to analyse the forces during a cutting procedure in Abaqus/Explicit.
To do that, I have created a 2d model as follows:

On top of the workpiece I have placed a wire-based part:

This wire is placed via a tie constraint as follows:

I use the surface-to-surface interaction to model the tool-workpiece interaction and one more interaction to model the tool-wire interaction.
Moreover I use one more surface-to-surface interaction to model the curl of the chip:

But this final interaction does not happen and my elements penetrate one another during the analysis:

Anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this contact problem?
Thanks in advance.
