Bearing Clearance check By Using Plactic Gauge

Greeting everyone.

What happens if we use wrong class of plastic gauge. For example, the clearance given 0.175mm to 0.25mm, but we use different class of plastic gauge such as type c. Is the result from upper bearing housing compression will be different if use different plastic gauge?

I do not understand the question. Each package has a scale that is particular to that PlastiGage strip. If you use the wrong strip and read it using a different scale, the result will be inaccurate. If you use a strip that is out of range for the clearance you are measuring, you will get no result since it will not fall within the scale on the package.

Use a strip that you believe covers the range of the clearance you are measuring. Use the package that the strip came out of to read the result. If the readings is outside the range on the package, select a different strip with a different scale and try again. It looks like your clearance is potentially out of range of all of the strips you show in the picture. Can you measure the clearance with micrometers? Can you do a lift check?

how this strip of plastigage can give a different result? is it the diameter of strip?

The strips come in different diameters. Each diameter is good for a range of clearances.
