Bearing tolerance fits

I am press fitting some SKF bearings into a housing with a JS5 fit defined to be 3-5 micron interference. I just want to be sure as to whether or not these fits are diametrical or radial. Based on their program I would say radial but im not positive.

I agree with previous post. That's the way you measure it (diametrical) so that's the way it's specified.

I suggest you try the bearing fit calculation tool on the SKF website. It not only specifies fit based on ISO class, but the max/min diameters of the bearing and housing bore based on chosen fit. Because my company does machining in inches, I like to run my calculation and print this screen for each bearing fit and put this in my design folder.
