bearings in Trane centravac chiller

Where would I begin to search for motor bearing #'s (OB) and sleeve bearing type/composition (IB) for Trane centravac chillers. We have 6 units, 3 are 900 ton and 3 are 500 ton ( I think). We are taking over the predictive maintenance end of our service agreement and I need to know this info for vibration analysis. Also, can someone give me a clue as to why I see relatively high 2X Lf in my spectral and peakview plots. Roy Gariepy

Which series of Trane CenTraVac chillers do you have?

And, are you currently using spectrographic oil analisys?

We have 3 CVHF 910, and 3 CVHE 500 models. Oil analysis is part of the predictive program we want to take over (our figures show a $30,000 a year saving on our maintenance budget for doing this.) I pull oil samples once a quarter and collect vibe data every 30 days. The oil samples are sent to Computational Systems Inc. in Knoxville, Tenn. for analysis and then a hard copy and e-mail copy are sent to me for filing. CSI gives a very formal report along with their recommendations as to any actions that need taken. The vibration analysis is done in house by myself. I would like to go to a training course on the chillers to see what makes them "tick" and to get a better understanding of what vibration frequencies to look for (1X, BPFO,BPFI,FTF,BSF,vane pass, ect.) Currently I rely on some case histories I have collected from Technical Associates out of Charlotte, NC., and what I learned when I got my Level I certification with the Vibration Insttute 5 yrs ago. If you have any pointers on this topic it would also be deeply appreciated. Roy Gariepy
