I'd like to see more of the bearing arrangement.
What spins, what is stationary, what is the fit between the bearing ID and OD and other components, etc, etc.

The yellow beveled cover appears to have a gap and make no contact with the housing.

The X ring seals the cover to the bearing outer race, as long as the groove is proportioned and finished correctly.
So there is a path from the outside world thru the gap, and possibly along the outer race OD and into the bearings.

Some bearings are numbered with stamped or etched characters that are quite deep.
I'd be concerned deeply numbered bearings would provide a path past the X-ring.
