Best NDT method to Inspect inaccesable area. 2

Hi all.
im new in this forum
Pls advice best NDT methods to inspect vessel dish head thickness on inaccessible area. ( no windows for unit Shutdown until next turnaround)

How about a small say 3/8" side potted UT transducer. You will need to clean up the rust on under the tab attached to the head and lifting lug. You won't be able to access the complete area. If you cut off that tab going to the lifting lug you could get better access but still wont be able to inspect down near the tangent of the lifting lug. To do it right it has to be done from inside.

How about cutting off both the tag and the lifting lug?

Neither is required until the vessel is to be replaced, at which time it will be junk, and you can cut holes for hooks, or weld on a new lug, just to get the junk out of there.

Yes, as it was posted before, cut the lifting lugs, clean the rust, and make a UT scanning.
