Hi all,
I wanted to ask your opinions on the best practice to make a nest/setting jig for a part of irregular geometry.
I am currently tasked with this for a lot of parts but I am not sure what the most efficient way to go about this in NX is, two lines of thought currently are:
[ul]
[li]Extrude beyond the highest point of the part and use it as a tool to trim the target extrusion. Then I have a cut out which I then need to open up. [/li]
[li]Create a datum below the part, project curves from the part and extrude up to selected [/li]
[/ul]
Are there any other lines of thought, anything you would do straight off the bat to start a task like this?
