Electricpete thanks for the information on balancing an overhung rotor fan when pillow block bearings are involved.
Expanding the conditions for overhung rotors. Is there any difference from the coupled two bearing mounting method for balancing an overhung rotor directly mounted onto the motor shaft in a horizontal orientation and in the vertical orientation such as is common for air ventilation fans for deep mining operations?
Is there a different procedure for the two plane balance when using the motor bearings for the measurement points. Additionally is there a variation from horizontal to vertical orientation.
