Hi everyone,
I am researching ion trapping filters for use in solvent purification for semiconductor applications. I started my search with the current type of ion trapping filter we use on some of our systems (this filter here).
The current use is point of use purification when dispensing from vendor canisters. The application I envision would be more on the 1 to 10 gallon size system so I would like to know what the best practices concerning installation, preparation, and maintenance around this type of filter.
One particular area of confusion is as follows:
Some of my colleagues have told me that these types of filters have some wetting issues, but I did not receive such feedback from the vendor. Also, I have seen the POU filter elements prepared by soaking them in the solvent before use and I don't know what circumstances warrant such a prep method.
Thanks,
~J
