It is a a very good entry level package for the cost and compared to the competition. Only you know if it does everything you need. If your salesman can not help you decide if you need an extra package keep asking on up the line until you get someone that can answer your question.
I just need modelling, assembly and detailing. My local PTC rep. says Foundation Advantage is the cheapest entry level package available. I can live without sheet metal, welding, design animations, photorendering and other extra modules. I have experience of PTC reps. insisting on selling me modules I don't need as a "special offer" claiming the more basic package was not available only to find later this special offer is not a good deal.
We use the Foundation Advantage II package here, it's perfect for what we do.
It has the perfect combination a advanced options, sheetmetal, Mechanisms etc. you could probably get a license around $4,000.00
I do alot of motion analysis of small block chevy combinations and Wildfire works perfect for this. The majority for everything else we use the software for is oilpans, vaccuum pumps, fixtures etc..
Even thought you may not originally conceive of using them, I have found the modules for Behavioral Modeling (BMX) and Mechanism Design (MDX) indispensable in my work. I would recommend any body trying to purchase Pro/ENGINEER to make sure they get these modules. My understanding is that they are included in Foundation, but I can't be sure with all of the "special offers" that may be made.

Foundation came with MDX not MDO, MDX gives you kinematics of assemblies and interferences but won't let you do forces of gravity, force motors, friction etc like MDO.
PTC changes there packages allot and the webpages doesn't have all of the details all of the time. I believe foundation is the least expensive option. It now contains lots of things that were options like sheet metal and some surfacing. Do you need the ISDX surfacing? I did. There are also a couple of variations on the assembly packages. Make sure you get the one you want. When you get a trail copy get it with the package configuration you were quoted. That is the easiest way to see if it will work. You can look in the license file or the support info under the help menu to see what packages you have.
