I have been doing H&H for 5+ years now and am out of the structural loop for (except for the intermittent retaining wall) but it appears that all of the sudden I am going to have several projects that require slab spans. I have no standards... well at least I have no standards I can use in Oklahoma for such bridges.

I would very much appreciate some advice in choosing a good software to use for slab spans. We've also picked up a young eit recently and he is interested in structural so PC beam design could be a plus for him.

Any help - any opinions - I'd appreciate them. - Thanks -G

The Florida DOT has a complete LRFD 3-span continuous flat slab design on their website. The example even covers the substructure. That would be a good starting point for someone with little to no experience. As always, a competent PE should be available for guidance and review of your calculations.

Thanks for that advice I'll go look at florida's site.

I just bought "LRFD Design of Cast in Place Concrete bridges" from PCA on the advice of a friend at another firm (and yes BTW he can check my work the first time or two). He says he does his slab spans by hand. I'd be glad to do several by hand to get more familiar with the design of them, but if it becomes a regular thing. I'd like a program to speed things up.
