Just looking for a suggesion of doing a specific task. I am using NX8.0

So i often have to add a tangential 6" flange to a complex surface, I keep switching beteem 3 commands to find which one works.

1. 'Trim and Extend' (which occasionally says unable to extrude)
2. 'Silhouette Flange' (which says radius could be too large) - rarely use this
3. 'Law Extension' (which gives invalid section string definition)
4. 'Extension Surface' this seems like the perfect command, except it always creates space between the selected edge and the newly extended surface edge, for an unknown reason.

I know in 'metal sheeting' license there are more commands for flange, but I don’t have that license on daily bases. But if you tell me that license has a 'magic function' that works easily all the time for creating flange along the perimeter of surface, I will be able to get a hold of that license and give it a try.
Thanks

Without at least a picture of what you attempting to do, it's going to very hard to make any recommendations.

You mention 'Sheet Metal', does this imply that you're actually attempting to model a Sheet Metal part?
