I am trying to generate machine code for milling a pocket with filleted edges at the base of the pocket and I can't seem to find a good manufacturing operation to do this!

I would like to rough out the pocket with a square end mill and then finish the bottom with a ball end mill (or a rounded corner end mill).

What would be the best way to go about this? Which manufacturing operations should I use and which faces should I be choosing during the setup of this operation?

What version of NX are you using?

Use cavity milling and select the faces of the pocket as the cut area. This will recognize the fillet at the bottom of the pocket. Activate the Level Based in process workpiece in the rough and finish operations.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I'm using NX3.

How do I activate the level based in process workpiece? That option seems to make sense, but I don't immediately see it (like many options in NX3 that like to hide from me)

In NX3 Cavity Mill operation select cutting - containment - In Process Workpiece and select Use Level based. This will save the uncut areas from one operation to the next. See the attached part file.
