Hi all,

We have an application where we need to bore numerous holes into an existing concrete slab.

Hold diameter will be ~40mm, Reinforcing may be present but structuraly not a problem if we go through it. Depth of about 200-300mm.

Need to bore around 4 sets of 15 holes.

Is a diamond tipped core drill our best bet or are there other methods? Not too concerned about he surface finish as we will be using chemical anchors.

Happy New Year.

The fastest method to do what you want to do is to use a rock drill with a whirlibit but they typically only drill up to a 1 1/2" diameter hole (38.1 mm). Otherwise, the diamond core bit is your best bet and offers better precision.
