better throughput using amplifiers

Hi everybody

I found an antenna (cisco ANT24120) which gives 2Mbps at 25 kilometers. Do you know how much I can extent the throughput by using an amplifier with this antenna? Do you know any compatible amplifier?

If it's a two way system (transmit and receive), you can't add an amplifier, it'll block the receiving info.

You can add a reflector behind that antenna to increase gain and extend throughput in one direction if needed.

Cisco has a Technical assistance center. Best to ask them.
 
There are bespoke WiFi bi-directional (not that there's anything wrong with that) amplifiers.

Another technical is to make sure you use a short RF cable and a long Ethernet cable (mount the hardware at or near the antenna). Or use a WiFi repeater or 'Bridge' at the antenna. Such basic RF-common-sense tricks might give you several dB essentially for free. I've heard about installation where the RF cable was 100-feet long... sigh...
