Is there a way to get rid of square shapes when rotate big assemblies? Also in wireframe mode can't keep the colour assigned for each part. They show all black. To see the colurs I have to change to shade mode.

Tools > Options > System Options and set the Level of detail slider to Less (faster).

Tools > Options > Document Properties > Colors and select Apply same colors to wireframe, HLR and shaded

Your graphics card will also play into it. You can change the level of detail all you want, but if your graphics card isn't up to par you'll still get the blocks.

CorBlimeyLimey,
I did all the changes you mentioned above and still doesn't work. Tools->Options->System Options->Performance->Level of Details is on Less. In fact I cannot move the slider at all.

The other setting for the colors, the box "Apply same colors to wireframe, HLR and shaded" is grayed out. I can't change it.

JMirisola,
My videocard is Nvidia Quadro FX 1000. Any ideea what setting I should do. I kind of tried almost everything. Still nothing.

I am using SW 2006 SP03.

Ok, I got it. The Large Assy Mode was on and that's why the slider wasn't adjustable. It works now. Still didn't fix the colour issue.
