Bill of material and configurations

Hello everybody,

I have a question,...
If I use a part (with configurations) in an assembly and I give each configuration a name can I get a bill of material out of the assembly with for the part the name of the configuration I am using ??

Belgium,

you can use custom properties to fill out you bill of material. When you fill them out use the configuration specific custom properties. Also, I believe if you use the ones provided like "Description" and "PartNo" they will fill in the basic bom template that SW provides.

The BOM configuration is dependent upon a drawing view that you select before making the BOM. Set the configration in that view to the one that you wish to use for your BOM.
