Is it possible to calculate the exact cost for electricity used over the past 18 mths in a comms room. The supply is metered with a Socomec Diris AP type meter, which does not have the option of kWh. The units that can be read off the meter are kW, kVAR, kVA, V, Hz, A and the hours run.
If its is not possible to get an exact cost can this be estimated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to prorate the cost compared to the rest of the facility? If so, how is the rest of the facility billed -- is there a demand charge? do they pay on a kwh basis, kva basis? is there any penalties such as power factor correction, etc... also, are there any time of day charges, seasonal charges, fuel adjustment charges, etc... are you wanting the cost for the 18 month period or broken down by month? You've only provided part of the info required -- need some idea what the billing side info is...

Do you have 18 months of cycle by cycle data? Probably not. If you plot out kW over time, kWh will be the area under the curve. Error will depend on the nature of the load and the frequency of data storage.

It is remotely possible that an accessory module that will provide a watthour KYZ-pulse output could be obtained. Connect it to a counter and log a month's worth of usage, and vaguely estimate the prior interval. This assumes that the metering devices and associated instrument transformers are suitably accurate for revenue-transfer purposes.

With digitally-displayed information, it is critical not to confuse resolution with accuracy.

Thanks for the replies all. Discovered that it is possible to add a kWh module to the meter, so Busbar's idea is the one I will probably run with.
I was hoping that I could calculate the kilowatts per day, from which I could then get kWh. The rest of the facility has kWh meters and using the cost per kWh from the suppliers bill the tenant bills are calculated.
