I'm in the works of automating a small biodiesel pilot process and need to know roughly the material and size of piping required for a few of the reactants. The idea is to pump yellow grease, methanol, sodium methylate, and sulfuric acid into a batch reactor, let the contents react/mix, then transport the product to a dryer further down the line. At the moment, we have black iron and stainless pipes for the grease and methanol, respectively. The flow of the methylate (25%) and sulfuric acid (>51%) is small (<1gpm) compared to the other two. I'm sure 316SS will work well with the methylate, but what size would you recommend? And for the acid, should I use a 316SS as well, or a plastic pipe, and what should it's dimensions be? Any suggestions as to go about finding this info out? I sincerely appreciate your help! Thanks!

You could use instrument tubing (small dia) 316 for the mehylate, I would suggest carpenter 20 (N08020)for the acid piping. Good luck
