Hi all.

I'm planning to evaluate the likely installation of a burner to warmp up process air for a spray dryer. At the customer facilities there is a landfill and we will use the produced biogas as a feed for the burner. Regarding the biogas burning environmentally, we have to burn it completely. The problem for this activity is that we don't know the maximum air/fuel ratio for the burner. The stoichometric air/fuel ratio is about 4.8 air kg/biogas kg. Can anybody help me? We are considering an air/fuel ratio of 3 for our burner.

Thank you in advance.

We use landfill gas for electric power production using internal compustion engines. As a result I do not know from gas burners but as it refers the landfill gas I am sure that you can not set your burner in a fixed AFR. Because your gas is always changing you must have a lambda regulator in order to succed stoichiometric burn. Though one day the methane concentration may vary more than 10%, so you can not have a unique AFR.
Your lambda regulator must be able to handle these difference of methane.
Because I am not sure that this is the answer in your question please answer me, if you want more details (eg how to set the lambda requlator, how to find the stoichiometric AFR e.g).
