Hello to all,
Iam a new subscriber and would like to know about the possiblity of defining a bi-phasic finite element (25% fluid + 75%solid,fibrous material) in ABAQUS. In some literatures, its given that porous materials in ABAQUS can be treated as bi-phasic elements.
If its not possible to define such bi-phasic element, is there any other alternative to define???
Kindly help me in this matter.
regards
HP

Hi there,

It is true you can use porous materials (or soils) as biphasic material (see, Wu et al. Journal of Biomechanics, 31(1998) 165-169)...I'm working with this at the moment but I have troubles defining the constant permeability. Can somebody help me out with that??
Thanks
CJ
