I saw a previous thread pertaining to "Bishop & Morgenstern method for slope stability", I could not comment on this thread because it is closed already.
If you use a commercial software such as SVSLope or Slope/W, I would recommend you use M-P/Spencer/GLE methods rather than other methods included in the software package. Because these three methods satisfied both force and moment equilibrium. General Bishop method also satisfies both force and moment equilibrium and in most cases, the results from Bishop method is similar to the other three rigorous methods, however the circular slip surface does not work well in some cases including weeklayers and reinforcements.
