I am looking for a straight forward no nonsense set of calculations. These calcs are for determineing thickness of ring, mawp of ring, minimum npt size. (max press. at spacer 740 psi)

Sorry, Pegasus - All we can offer you are convoluted nonsensical calculations!

I am interested in the formula weather or not they are convoluted nonsensical calculations. Would greatly appreaciate if you could direct me in the right direction.

Good one!

Your question is convoluted and nonsenical. What are you trying to do? Bleed rings come in standard sizes and flange pressure ratings. Sounds like you need one for an ANSI 300# system. MAWP of ring is determined by the ring wall thickness - which is whatever you wnat to make it. "Minimum NPT" makes no sense at all in this context - minimum what? - diameter, length or something else.

You haven't even mentioned what material this is(and the resultant allowable stress) or what (if any) code you are trying to follow.

To JTE, the sarcasm was uncalled for. By the way, they were your words to begin with (convoluted and nonsenical)!

I do realize there are tables posted on the internet indicating pressure ratings, thicknesses, materials, min and max npt sizes, MAWP. etc, and that B31.1 & B31.3 and other standards can be referenced. All I was interested in were sample calcs, to double check my work.

Got it figured out, thanks for your time, have nice life......
