Blending a Surface Between Multiple Sketches. 1

Hi All,

In ProE, how do you "loft" a surface. "Loft", I think is a Solid works function in which a suface could be created from a family of curves. I am kind of familiar w/ "Blend"; but I could not figure out how to use mutiple sketchs.

Ok, second question. Does the search function on this ProE forum work? I am sure someone has asked this question before; but, on my search, I can't get a single hit?

you might want to take a look at BOUNDARY BLEND

as far as search goes..
try the google search near the top of the page with the default Eng-Tips Forum button selected..

the forum/search/faqs/... I get no hits with either

Insert > Blend > General > Select Curves then pick the sketches to use.

Note that Pro/E requires the number of sketch entities to be the same.
If you were blending a sketch of a rectangle with filleted corners (8 entities) to one with only a rectangle (4 entities), there is an option to insert a Blend Vertex which shows up as a small circle around a sketch vertex.

To get the blend I mentioned you'd just insert 4 blend vertices in the second sketch while selecting it for creating the blend. Another thing to watch for is ensuring the Start Point Arrows are on the appropriate curves in your sketch to prevent twisting or flipping of the sweep orientation.

Regarding theSEARCH FUNCTION
Use the Google Search Tool at the top of the page with the
Eng-Tips Forums Option checked.

It works nicely and you don't have to click the Search tab on this page to enter your search text on a separate page.

Good Luck with adapting to Pro/E from SW it's not as user friendly but it has a lot of power and this is a good forum for getting questions answered and is way better than PTC Tech Unsupport.
