Hi,

I am modelling shearwalls as wide column element providing with equivalent properties. The shear wall has edge columns which is modelled as frame members. Now, at every storey level, the centre node of shear wall and the frame nodes on both sides of the shear wall are to be constrained or connected with rigid links. Can you suggest me, if I can use body constraints or equal constraints (if so, what DOFs are to be constrained)in either method.

thanks for your time and help.

Body constraints would be typical. All 6 DOF constrained, considering the moment effects of the offset distance from your column "wall"
