I am doing a very preliminary cost estimate for a plant upgrade, part of which will involve a 200 HP firetube boiler. I'm wondering if anyone can give me a ballpark estimate on the capital cost of one of these would be. A google search turned up approximately $200,000. Does this seem reasonable? I'm assuming installation costs would be appoximately 50% of equipment cost - or $100k.

Let me know if these numbers make sense.

Thanks.

Why don't you call various industrial boiler manufacturers (Cleaver-Brooks, etc) and obtain this information first hand? Don't you want good budgetary estimates?

Oops, I got off track in my original post. The subject was correct though. What I am primarily looking for is a rule of thumb for cost per HP. I remember reading it somewhere before.
